We started our summer in Scotland for the 2024 Nuart Aberdeen festival, and now we end the summer with The Film. Nuart is a special part of our year, a special part of our DNA, and with every year comes different themes and different global circumstances to understand. This year, obviously, was no different, and Aberdeen proved once again to an ideal canvas for discussion.
"This year felt like a really defining year for Nuart Aberdeen, we tackled some of the largest and most difficult walls, produced some of the most sublime content, hosted some of the best street artists and muralists in the world and had the honour to present a unique series of talks and events from some of the world’s leading street art scholars and industry professionals. The Ai and city council partnership alongside local business sponsors and partners has blossomed into an efficient and ambitious collective, all equally dedicated to bringing the very best this culture has to offer to the city of Aberdeen, and to consistently bring it in on budget, is testament to the groups awareness that we don’t take the use of community funds lightly. And have no doubt, although a few of us are from outside the city’s borders, this is truly a local affair. A festival run by local people for local people which simply wouldn’t exist without the support of our vast army of Aberdonian volunteers.
