Anat Ebgi presents The Wave, a benefit exhibition of 14 LA artists to support Alec Egan and artists affected by the wildfires which devastated Los Angeles in January. On view at 6150 Wilshire Blvd from February 8 through March 22. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, February 8 from 6-8pm.
Alec Egan is one of many who lost his home and studio in the LA wildfires. He was in the final days of completing works for his solo show, The feast, the sea, the mother, the sky, the mark, the mountains, and the watcher, set to open at the end of January in our newly renovated and expanded headquarters at 6150 Wilshire Blvd gallery on Miracle Mile. All of the works for the exhibition were burned in the fire. We are so grateful Alec and his family are safe and mourn with all who are now facing tragic losses and uncertainty. The Wave, is titled after one of Alec’s surviving paintings, which had miraculously been brought to the gallery early. It is a wave of support, a wave of emotion. Make waves, ride the wave, wave goodbye. As we witnessed this tremendous suffering, it has been heartening to see Los Angeles come together to grieve, opening homes, offering hope. Together we rebuild and look ahead to new days, new horizons.
