If you have been a reader of Juxtapoz in recent years, you know that we love the new generation of "graphic painters." Not design, but fine artworks created in a distinct language that is minimal but telling a story. Juxtapoz contributing editor, and curator in his own right, Sasha Bogojev, has put together a special showcase, The Flats, on view at Tales of Art Gallery in Imola, Italy that speaks to this new movement of painting with an international group of artists from Mexico to The Netherlands. The show will be on view from October 19—December 1, 2019

The artists featured in The Flats are purposely limiting their expression to the minimal, flat depiction of the desired imagery. Yet still, they are capable of touching critical issues through their work and capturing most intimate, honest emotions. Flat in their visual expression, they are exciting and surprising in their context, eager to point out injustice or simply celebrate love and life. In a way, they are a sparkling ray of confidence that it doesn't take a complex syntax for one to understand and experience the world in its true beauty.

Artists in the show include Hilda Palafox, Quentin Monge, Adrian Kay Wong, Laura Berger, Jackson Joyce and Lotte Keijzer
