As the date for Juxtapoz x Superflat gets closer and closer, today we take a look at some of the works from Japanese Pop artist, Chiho Aoshima. The exhibition will be held at Pivot Art & Culture in Seattle from August 4—7, 2016, and is co-curated by Takashi Murakami and Juxtapoz editor, Evan Pricco.
A member of the Kaikai Kiki collective, Chiho has had a wide-range of works shown at some of the best contemporary art galleries across the world like Blum & Poe and Perrotin, working in painting, drawing, film and animation, as well as fashion. In 2015, she has a solo exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum, so we are excited to see her work back in the Pacific Northwest for our exhibition. She told the museum of her inspirations, "“The evolution of human civilization is great; humankind thinks nature precious, but it is difficult for humankind and nature to coexist. I represented these two souls that cannot understand each other through the images of buildings and mountains.”
