Harman Projects is bicoastal this week, first with a booth at the Outsider Art Fair and on the left coast, The Moral Compass, the third solo exhibition by 2x Juxtapoz cover artist and San Francisco-based artist Jeremy Fish. This body of work features new paintings and works on paper in collaboration with Fish’s mother Nicole, a life long librarian and teacher. Each piece is an illustration illuminating one of Ms. Fish’s fables that include a simple lesson and kernel of wisdom.

Rendered in Fish’s instantly recognizable visual lexicon, each new painting and ink drawing forms and illustrates the morals of the fables. Fish writes of the exhibition, “I chose the Moral Compass title in reference to all of these simple lessons contained in these fables in terms of how we human beings should treat each other. vanity, greed, rage, jealousy, etc. are all things that as a single mom working multiple jobs, my mother took the time to teach my sister and I these valuable lessons. At a time in human history when it is important to reflect on our morality, and the paths that your life choices can take you depending on how you choose to read the compass.”

The Moral Compass opens on Saturday, March 1st with a reception from 5 pm - 7 pm.
