We are excited to share what our friends at AXA XL have just announced: the eighth edition of the AXA Art Prize in the United States. This prestigious competition, juried by prominent artists and art curators, welcomes figurative paintings, drawings, and prints from undergraduate and graduate art students across the US. The deadline for submissions is March 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.

Since its inception in 2018, the AXA Art Prize US has served as a launchpad for promising artists, providing a platform for their work to be evaluated by influential curators, critics, and collectors in the country.

Commenting, Lucy Pilko, CEO AXA XL Americas, said: "As an insurer, we understand the importance of protecting artistic legacies and fostering creativity. We are proud to support the next generation of artists by offering them an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their talent and gain recognition."

The competition is divided into three rounds. Initial submissions will be assessed by Regional Juries, composed of members from the AXA Art Prize Strategic Advisory Board and 30 leading studio art programs, including Rhode Island School of Design, California College of the Arts, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. An Exhibition Jury, comprising curators from the nation's top museums, will then shortlist 40 artists.

The 40 finalists will be featured in the AXA Art Prize US Exhibition, set to open in New York in November 2025. The First Prize and Second Prize winners will be selected by a panel of renowned contemporary artists and will receive awards of $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
